Google is bringing native AI image editing to the Gemini app, allowing users to modify both AI-generated and personal images. You can change backgrounds, replace objects, or even see yourself with different hair colors. 

The feature supports multi-step editing, combining text and visuals for more contextual responses, like creating illustrated stories. All edited images include an invisible SynthID watermark, and visible watermarking is also being tested. 

The rollout has begun and will expand to users in over 45 languages and most countries in the coming weeks.
