AI Is Smarter Than Me (Again) – And That’s Okay

Artificial intelligence is everywhere. It sorts my emails, corrects my spelling (sometimes a bit too aggressively), curates my YouTube recommendations, and if I’m brave enough, it even writes my grocery list. That last one once included matcha, which I’ve never bought in my life — but the algorithm seems to think it’s time for a lifestyle upgrade.

So... why is this a good thing?

One of the biggest perks of AI is that it saves us time. It takes care of repetitive or boring tasks — like data entry, analysis, or organizing cat pictures (don't judge). But it's not just about work: today, you can have AI design a logo, write a short story, or even compose music for you.

But isn’t that... kinda scary?

Totally fair question. AI is learning faster than ever and sometimes feels unnervingly human. Tools like ChatGPT can write full, coherent articles — sometimes better than a tired journalist on a Monday morning (trust me, I’ve been that journalist). That raises real concerns: what happens to creative jobs? To teachers, developers, writers?

The truth is, AI probably won’t take your job — but someone who knows how to use it might. Like computers didn’t eliminate libraries, they just made searching for info faster, AI isn’t here to replace humans. It’s here to level us up.

AI isn’t magic. It’s just really, really good math. And like any tool, it’s all about how you use it. If you treat it as a partner, the possibilities are endless. If you treat it like an enemy, you’re probably missing out.

Spoiler alert: yes, sometimes it is smarter than me.
But that’s okay. Now excuse me while I go make a double espresso — no matcha, thanks.
